The Stables

06_konjusnica_prednja-fasada.jpg

The conversion of the baroque stables of the castle of Sv. Križ Začretje.

The building, whose earliest parts date back to the early 17th century is converted into a mixed-use facility (small hotel, restaurant, coffee bar, spa with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and ancillary premises, multi-purpose hall and a small set of medical facilities – clinics).

The new facilities are carefully "inserted" into the preserved historical structure - stone and brick columns and arches with the so-called Czech hats. The dialogue between old and new is aimed to establish new and unexpected spatial values.
